Leander was born from a considerably powerful background in the Old World. Leander comes from the name of his forebear, a great settler who flourished in the now-lost land of Aspenfall. The last name, Willow, originates centuries before, existing only through tradition and telltale. According to the rumors, the last name originates from a people living in the capital of an ancient land going by the same name. These people rose to prominence through political triumph but had to leave because of a volcanic eruption on a nearby island.
The family, being one of the few to survive in the new world of Zaerith, created the last name, Willow, to honor those who lived in the village beside them but did not make it out of the eruption. His family, a settler of a now lost nation, amassed a fortune through shipping and running the nation they helped to found. Leander lived most of his life in the now-defunct nation of Aspenfall, carrying on his family’s legacy by entering public service and founding several business chains, before being quickly uprooted by a disastrous plague suggested to originate from Aspenfall’s sewer system. His family fell when most did, a week into the disease.
Fortunately, Leander was surveying faraway lands, and when he heard word of the outbreak, was ordered by dying wish of his father to stay. Haunted by the thought of his family’s slow death, he sought to expand their name and influence in the New World. As of late, he has founded the Frons Party and is looking to lead Zaerith’s people just like his great ancestors did before him in the mystic lands of Erosia.
Born in Atrana to an immigrating family from the Laeli Culture. His family was originally a merchant family that was driven out of their home due to cultural persecution in Valtara. Klaus grew up with a very modest living but spent much of his time with children in the lower class since he lived close to a factory neighborhood in Atrana. He also went to school in the Fringe of Atrana since it was more affordable to his immigrant parents.
One day the rebellion began in Lomondu, and he decided to support the rebels, believing that Lomondu was far too different from the rest of Atrana and needed it's independence which cost him much of his reputation in Atrana as he had become a well known representative of the Lomondu Region outside of Atrana. After Lomondu's collapse due to corruption by the mafia, Klaus moved to Aspenfall along with many other Lomonduans seeking to escape the Mafia government. In Aspenfall he became quite involved in politics under the council-ship of Giovanni Zeitsprecher, the former president of Lomondu who had been given a seat on Aspenfall's council.
Through Giovanni, Klaus adopted a keen sense of self determination and by influence of the Willow family, he became a large environmentalist. Klaus, like most traditional Atranans believes in Deism, or in other words the beilief of a Deity. He does however study ancient folklore and myth as a way of better understanding not only his own culture but those of the ancient worlds like Erosia and Almira.
Born into the prestigious House Pigtrotter in Le Desert Perdu, Atrana’s shimmering capital, Gristle Pigtrotter grew up amidst power and innovation. His father, Hegwin Pigtrotter, served on the Atranan Council, cementing their family’s influence in politics, while his mother, Sarella Pigtrotter, was a celebrated engineer whose creations, like the iconic Temple of Accord, defined Atrana’s skyline and symbolized unity through progress.
Gristle's privileged upbringing in Atrana’s upper city afforded him access to the finest education, where he mastered science, strategy, and politics. Yet, he found himself captivated by his mother’s workshops, where her fusion of art and engineering inspired his vision for Atrana’s future. Gristle grew to embody the city’s duality—balancing his father’s political acumen with his mother’s creative spirit.
As an adult, Gristle sought to bridge Atrana’s divides, advocating for technological equity to uplift the lower city while preserving the aristocracy’s legacy. His ambitious reforms, while praised by some as visionary, drew criticism from others who viewed them as a threat to Atrana’s rigid social hierarchy. Gristle’s journey reflects Atrana’s struggle to balance ambition with responsibility, a theme central to its enduring legacy.
Vincenzo Salerno grew up in the once renowned country of Almira. He was always quite taken by the stunning feats his fellow countrymen could accomplish, and as he grew up he began to realize that the beauty he observed around him wasn’t achieved legitimately… but rather it was achieved through crime.
After Almira fell to internal corruption Vincenzo moved to distant lands where he began a small organization that grew quickly. The organization was called the Cascade Corporation and it served as a front for the real business which was organized crime.
Born and raised in a small village on one of the many unnamed islands of Atrana, he was raised without being of any prominence to the world. Being of a rare species of dragon, Greater Common Dragonkin (communis draco sanguinis), he often faced hardship fitting into the predominantly human world. Nonetheless, through Hans' innovative nature, he rose to prominence automating farms for the Atranan government to better feed their population.
At the whopping age of 103 in the present day, hr has taken on the role of helping people develop further and allow countries to grow and prosper with automation and easier methods of resource gathering.
Real name Jakov Sukhar grew up in a small impoverished village surrounded by hardship. His family struggled to make ends meet under a strict government and Jakov learned early that survival meant seizing every opportunity no matter the cost. Determined to escape he immigrated to a prosperous Western country in his early 20s adopting the name “Jack Sugarman” to fit in and reinvent himself.
Jack initially worked boring jobs so he could eventually save up to buy a struggling sugar mill. Jack transformed the factory into Sugarman Sugar Industries, cutting corners and leveraging his growing wealth to dominate the market. While he paints himself as a self made man he hides the more ruthless parts of his journey including exploiting cheap labour from his homeland and dealing with questionable suppliers. He continues his iffy work in Zaerith to this day.
